Travelling with dogs

Dog in Andamooka

Dog in Andamooka

Hi Rita,
We will be travelling from Melbourne to Tennant Creek with 2 cocker spaniels. Do you know of any places that we can stay that will allow animals.

Thanks
Jenny

Response to travelling with dogs

Hi Jenny,
you wouldn't think that it is so hard to find accommodation where you can take your pets. I see so many Aussies on the road with their dogs, but then, who knows where they stay?

Anyway, I did some research, and came up with motels in Bordertown, Port Pirie, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy.

When you search for "pet friendly accommodation" the results are somewhat conflicting. Pet friendly places seem to be holiday cottages (along the coast) where you often have to stay for more than one night. That's what I saw on the south-australia.com website.

So I don't know where you exactly wanted to stop on your journey, but I hope it helps.

Rita
