Pre booking accommodation
by Tony
Glendambo Motel, Stuart Highway
I am planning a trip from Tasmania to Alice Springs by motor bike. At the moment I plan to be in Port Augusta on 27th June and then continue up to Alice Springs over the following five days. Response to Pre booking accommodationby: RitaHi Tony, Thanks for your compliments, I am glad you find the Outback Guide helpful :). I understand that you want to be free and flexible. You won't have problems to find accommodation in Port Augusta, Coober Pedy and Alice Springs. There are plenty of hotels, motels and cabins at caravan parks available. Things might be different at the roadhouses along the Stuart Highway. It is school holidays season! From the last week of June until mid-July all Australian states have a 2 or 3 weeks break. With the recent rains the "green" Outback might be popular destination. So I don't know how busy it will be along the Stuart Highway. To be sure to get a bed for the next night, you could ring the place you want to stay next in the morning. This would avoid to go back or forth to the next stop if you don't get a bed. Ayers Rock Resort has plenty of accommodation, however, the price range is from expensive to very expensive, and the budget rooms might be booked out early. If you want to explore Uluru only for one day, Curtin Springs, 84 km from Yulara, would be an alternative stop. Have a save trip. Rita Need a map?
