Motorbike trip

Hi Danny,

Sounds like a great adventure!

I am by no means experienced with motorbikes. However, I think to do this trip in summer is not a good idea. Too hot for man and machine :).

Hopefully, someone who already did such a trip can give you more advice.

Best time to travel

Hi Danny, got to agree with Rita...summertime is not the time to travel from Sydney to Uluru. Your summers are much milder than here in Alice and our winters are much warmer than your winters so that's the time to go!

Anytime from Apr-May through to about September would be good.I have friends and rellies who have just left from Canberra to head up here and beyond. I'm going to meet them on my Harley just before Uluru and travel with them to see the Rock and then back through Alice Springs and then up to Darwin.

You might have some cool days or even rain in the southern states but once you start heading up the Stuart Highway the weather will get better and better. The days will generally be sunny with cool mornings once you get into far north SA and into the NT.
