This 1993 built motel is erected in true Australian Outback style. 24 modern rooms and 4 apartments offer modern facilities in a quiet and friendly atmosphere. All rooms are air-conditioned and heated. Dining room open for breakfast and dinner, laundry facilities, internet access, tour desk and opal sales.

Desert Cave Hotel, Ph: (08) 86725688, Hutchison Street. The desert cave hotel has 31 aboveground and 19 underground rooms. Sleeping underground is an unique experience. The hotel has an cafe, restaurant, convention room, opal show rooms and many more features to make your stay enjoyable. Even if you don't plan to stay there, it is worth a visit and a looka round.

Facilites include: Crystal Cafe, open daily: 7 - 10am breakfast, 12noon - 3pm lunch; Umberto's Restaurant, open daily: from 6pm winter, from 7pm summer. Underground Bar & Gaming: open daily from 1pm till late, 12noon on Sundays; Opal showroom & sales, Australian arts & crafts, souvenirs.

Radeka's Dugout Motel & Backpackers, Ph: (08) 86725223, offers underground motel and backpackers accommodation.

Facilities: underground bar with takeaway license, tour booking office, video library, internet kiosk, kitchen facilities available, opal discounts to all guests.

The Comfort INN Coober Pedy Experience Motel, Ph: (08) 8672 5777, Crowders Gully Road, is another comfortable underground motel.

BIG 4 Oasis Tourist Park, Ph: (08) 8672 5169, Hutchison Street, the park offers all amenities, camp kitchen, tent & caravan sites, deluxe cabins and budget rooms. The park is close to the shops and restaurant in the main street.

Riba's Caravan Park & Mine, Ph: (08) 8672 5614, William Creek Rd, have you ever camped underground? Here you can do, and you won't even need a tent. Budget rooms with bunk beds are also available.

Are you hungry after a long day of noodling for opals? Walk along Hutchison Street and you will find plenty of places to eat. Thanks to the multicultural society in Coober Pedy, you can choose from a vast range of restaurants, cafes and takeaways.
