First of all, I am glad to tell you that the devastating bushfires in Victoria are under control. Communities and residents of the affected areas have started to rebuild their homes, schools, and other community buildings. Let's hope, that life will be back to normal for them soon. If you want to read more about the tragedy of February 2009, check out my page about Australian bushfires. ![]() In this issue of the Bush Telegraph I am going to introduce you to a new area of the South Australian Outback, the Gawler Ranges. I have added a couple of pages to the Outback Guide about this wonderful region in South Australia's west. Peter (my husband) and I spent a few awesome days in the Gawler Ranges together with our Australian friends. What did we like best? That is hard to tell, everything was wonderful. However, the drive along the conical hill track in the Gawler Ranges NP was most exciting and fun. The Gawler Ranges are an area of rocky landscapes and glistening salt lakes. There are not many facilities yet, so it is still a bit of a wilderness area. Hopefully, it stays like that for a while. * New pages on Rita's Outback Guide. *
