Now it has been a while since the last newsletter, and I want to apologize for the delay. Obviously, I bit more off than I could chew with the promise of sending a monthly newsletter. So I hope you'll enjoy this message from the Outback even more. :)

I've been working hard on the Outback Guide, so there is a lot of new and interesting stuff for you on the site that's worth to discover.

* Outback Guide News *

This is an overview about new pages on the Outback Guide since the last newsletter.

First Aid Kit Checklist - I think it is important to be prepared for minor health issues when you go Outback. This is the list of things I usually take with me for a trip. Of course it's not complete, and I am not a doctor, so always check with your doc when in doubt.

Travel Queensland - Finally, I began writing about the Outback in Queensland. This page is an introduction of the vast and remote regions of central Queensland. Explore the spirit of the bush. It's the area where Outback icons like Waltzing Matilda and the Flying Doctors came alive.

Cloncurry - is often referred to as Australia's hottest town. But there is more than hot temperatures.

Winton - is a lovely bush town with a lot of history. Not only Waltzing Matilda comes to mind.

Longreach offers two outstanding museums to honour the Australian pioneers. Don't miss the Stockman's Hall of Fame, the museum is truly worth a visit.

Australian souvenirs - What do you need to plan an exciting Outback trip? Books, maps and other sources of information. Although the Outback guide is a mine of information, it might not satisfy your need for information. I've added a bookstore and a music shop with hand-picked items for you to enjoy.

* Coming Outback events *

Outback events are an enjoyable occasion for Outback folks. People travel 100 km ore more to join a race, a rodeo, or a B&S ball in the next town. Why do not join while you are out there?

Easter in the Outback - Longreach, is a full packed program for four days. Nature walks, circus, barbecues and old-time dancing, there's something for everyone.

Weekend before Easter - The famous William Creek Camel Cup, an Outback event not to be missed.

22 March - Coober Pedy Opal Festival. The opal capital of the world celebrates its underground lifestyle.

25 to 27 April - Waltzing Matilda centre 10th birthday celebration. Visit Winton and celebrate the anniversary with great stories and the legend of Waltzing Matilda.

I hope you enjoyed the message from the Outback. This edition introduced you to central Queensland, a wonderful part of Australian Outback. I really enjoyed the trip to this region of Australia.

Until next time.

See ya, Rita
