Copley to Balcanoona Road

Gday I recently convened the Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive 2010 - and am exploring possible routes for a future event.

I am looking to start from http://www.ritas-outback-guide.com/broken-hill.html and as directly as possible to Marree or Copley etc then the Birdsville Track - Haddons Corner - Innamincka and back to Broken Hill in approx 12 days.

Currently I am in the planning stages and came across you site.

Hi Peter,

It looks like you've already found the route for your new project.

I've checked out your website, hey, the Outback Heritage Drive you did in June is exactly what we are planning to do in a few weeks.

I am very curious to know if you really made the tour as planned. I am getting quite nervous, because everytime I check the road conditions I see that most roads around Innamincka are closed due to rain and flooding.

So please tell me what the conditions are in this region. Feel free to start a new submission ( and photos?), or comment here.

Does anybody know??

I was wanting to drive from Bourke to Darwin (starting around Sydney to Parkes... ). Is it possible with the floods? Is it perhaps better to go to Darwin via Adelaide and the Alice now and leave south west QLD for later?? Or will the flood waters drift there too??

I am afraid, I can't always post up-to-date road and weather conditions on where in this huge country roads are flooded, or not.
